This trolley from the M&S food hall was captured at the entrance to the Ashley Centre this afternoon. Right outside Wetherspoons - where I notice that they seem to have banned smokers on their fine new terrace. The foodies have seen the puffers off.
While in front of the terrace we have two very dead trees, planted just about two years ago by Civic Trees, as noticed at reference 3. Does the council get its money back for the ones that don't take? Or better still, replacement trees? With the next couple of months being a good replanting window.
A bit further off a child was sitting in the front of the contemporary art race horse, 'Evocation of Speed', recently relocated in front of Wetherspoons, probably second home to many followers of the turf, last noticed at reference 4. Smilingly waiting for her mother to snap her. I told the mother that everything was OK as they had forgotten to put the 'Keep off the art' signs on this particular bit of art. Can't get the contractors these days.
All this in the margins of topping up on essentials at Waitrose; that is to say saucisson sec, wholemeal flour from Canada and a spot of Waitrose own blend. The label said it was warming.
PS: the art students' passage where I found the last trolley has not had any more since, at least not on days when I have been past. Perhaps the janitor has been having a go at the residents.
