I was sent an email telling me about reference 1 earlier today, the top of which is snapped above. A paper published online by the Lancet a week or so ago. Just one paper in what I imagine is a huge number of such. Let's hope our once world class civil service still has the band width and organisation needed to cope with them all - to the point of formulating at least adequate - if no longer world class - policy options for our ministers to consider.
Let's hope also that our ministers do not allow their understandable parochial concerns to blot out wider concerns - or to put it another way, the needs of others, particularly those others with a lot less money to throw at COVID than us.
