They are back

A modest sighting of redwings on the firethorn this morning, after missing last year. That is to say half a dozen or so redwings, a couple of parakeets and a blackbird sharing access to the middle firethorn.

Just to prove there is something there. Maybe when I am forced off my Microsoft telephone, I will learn how to do zoom properly on its more up to date replacement - some of which at least seem to sport three different lenses.

PS 1: lot of snarled-up traffic in Epsom this morning, apparently because the M25 was blocked in both directions at junction 9. Bing suggests that this is the result of eco-action, of stunts which remind me of the hunt saboteurs of old, that is to say having outdoor fun in a good cause. But more disruptive and in a better cause: collectively we are not, for one reason or another, moving quickly enough on global warming. Not quickly enough to head off much more serious disruption in years to come. On the up-side, quite impressive how the highways people managed to get signs out in and around Epsom, certainly by 09:30 or so, telling us about the closure and the consequent diversions.

PS 2: in Blog search at least, I find that the search keys 'redwing' and 'redwings' do not give the same result. Full strength Google search does rather better.
