Trolley 461

Trolley 461 was actually two Sainsbury's trolleys, captured from the creationists' accommodation block in East Street, which has taken over from what I used to call the Ashmore Passage as the most important source of stray trolleys - in which connection see reference 4. Note the new style wheel locks, front left as you push. Given the rarity of locked wheels, I don't think that it is the special boundary posts which sets them off any more - so no idea what does. Would a trolley man know? Would he be able to understand me?

Two more trolleys down the side, one of which can be seen in the snap above. Maybe another time. Plus some activity in the smoking den and what looked like some associated janitorial activity.

These ones returned to Kiln Lane, after which I resumed the Ewell Village anti-clockwise by cutting up Kingsway. Overall effect, apart from being slowed down by the two trolleys, was to add a few hundred yards to the distance walked.

The other items captured were one HB pencil, made by Staedtler in Germany, so a respectable brand of pencil, or at least it was when I knew about such things, but branded 'Noris School' for sale in this country. Makes nice, clean lines without any scraping.

One small size rubber band, not the usual large size discarded by our postmen on their rounds.

One large washer, near two inches in diameter and one eighth of an inch thick, made of some stiff black material. Probably part of some assembly, and not really a washer at all.

One small washer, about half an inch in diameter and one eighth of an inch thick, made of some pale, loose felt. Again, probably part of some assembly, and not really a washer at all.

But both of them, now washed and dried, have been added to the washer collection. Will small children complain about them when asked to sort the collection out? Will they detect failure to belong to the category 'washer', with at least one of the children in question being quite hot on categories of things?

PS: a late night, irrelevant addition. But a reminder about the sort of people we elected to govern us - by a minority of the vote - but by a whopping great majority in terms of seats. Unlike Brexit which got a majority of the vote. I assume the email is genuine, despite some of the usual trimmings of emails - like dates - appearing to have been blanked out.
