Someone at Raynes Park thought to include messages like the above in books left for recycling at the Platform Library. Clearly concerned that we should stick to the true path and not be seduced by what was the true faith.
I don't know if Dennis J. Bidle is the someone, or whether his name just happens to appear on the top of this bit of paper, but neither Bing nor Google turn up anyone whose name would be particularly likely to appear in print. The best they could do was an entry in Ancestry to the effect that 'Born in Suffolk, England on 6 Oct 1935. Dennis J Bidle passed away on 2018 in Suffolk, England'.
But the website mentioned at the bottom does exist and is to be found at reference 1, although I have failed to find out anything about its provenance. If I had to guess, I would say from the US, mindful of the crank who once entertained us, many years ago now, on an airport minibus taking us to town from Washington Airport (there are quite a lot of these in the list, but probably the IAD one). He was very concerned about bibles and parsons creeping into parts of the public service infrastructure where they had no business. Quite unconstitutional.
One might deplore the style of the message, but clearly the heart is in the right place. Keep up the good work!
