A Waitrose trolley collected from behind the bus stop at the top of the Kokoro passage. Moved into the shady passage for the purposes of snapping, but still managed to chop the wheels off.
To Waitrose, where at the entrance there were two lines of big trolleys, where I left this small trolley. To discover, on exit a few minutes later, a small stack of small trolleys at the exit. While BH claims that you find all sorts of trolleys in the multi-storey car park behind.
Stocked up with Bastides (without walnuts, truffles or any of that sort of nonsense) and one or two other essentials, but managed to abandon my sun hat in the course of checking out. Gone by the time that I got back, half an hour or so later. Only a pound or so but still irritating. With the good news being that the chap manning the customer service desk did bother to take the time to check.
More good news being that the travellers on Fair Green who had appeared with their impedimenta a few days previously, had moved on or been moved on. A modicum of bagged litter to be seen by the brick wall at the back. The bad news being that one of the young trees had been damaged, that is to say bent over. Worse news if the bending has snapped an important root. Time will tell. Maybe the man from the council will push it back up again.
PS: a fox did poke around last night, that is to say Wednesday-Thursday, but nothing serious. See reference 2.
