Finger trouble

The day before yesterday the index finger of my left hand locked shut. Out of the blue and not something which has ever happened before. Which was slightly alarming. After a while, I found I could bend the finger straight, without any pain or discomfort, but it went back again when released. But slowly repeating the bend, the finger slowly came back to life. With the curious sensation that the offending finger was not part of me until it came back to life again. Just something which was attached to me.

Thinking to ask my telephone this morning, Cortana and Bing between them suggest that I have, or might be about to have, a condition called trigger finger. No big deal in itself, but possibly linked to all kinds of unpleasant complaints. One of which seems to be psoriasis which I do have. Bottom line from Cortana and Bing: visit doctor immediately! We shall see.

In the meantime, I was cheered up this morning by the advertisement from the South Bank Centre reproduced above. Or if that didn't appeal, there was Yuja Wang - except that as usual, she does not care to tell you what you are getting in advance - just that it will probably involve Bach and Beethoven. Right little prima donna.

The South Bank Centre is reasonably plague friendly in that we can get there without having to brave the tube between Vauxhall and Oxford Circus - which to our minds is a useful reduction in risk. Also reasonably pensioner friendly in that it easy to get there from Epsom - being just a short walk from the platforms of Waterloo Station. So I will be looking at the programme more carefully in the days to come.
