Wellingtonia 99

Captured on Rhinefield Road, to the west of Brockenhurst in the New Forest, probably not far from the Rhinefield House Hotel a little further to the west. A rather better specimen than we managed in Stover Country Park and associated caravan site. Possible, of course, that we will find something better in the school grounds on our next visit.

Our car is just about visible bottom left.

We had originally thought to stay in the hotel, a member of the same family which runs the crematorium hotel near Leatherhead, to be found at reference 2, but it turned out to be a bit out of our league. We settled for something costing approximately half as much, albeit a little further away from where we wanted to be, of which more in due course. Perhaps on our next visit to the area, we will go so far as to take tea there and so be able to score the fine Wellingtonia which appears behind the main building on one of the publicity shots.

PS: my gmail account is being attacked by people who appear to think I am looking for work. Lots of emails in the last few days. Rather odd - not to say dodgy - people as their emails arrive in various different clothes, all a bit odd, not like those of a regular agency at all. One of which emails says that they are looking for a police records specialist of all things.
