Trolley 801

Having reached 800 trolleys, I had thought to pause for a bit, perhaps to stop altogether. But this trolley at the front of the creationists accommodation block in East Street was too much for me. Returned to Kiln Lane where the small trolley was empty - which meant that this was one taken in charge by a lady who did not want a large one.

Returned via the West Street footbridge, without further incident beyond a rather smart looking Ferrari pulling out of the Padel centre in Blenheim Road. I failed to get a snap but I did get a version of its number which soon, at the carcheck website at reference 1, morphed into the right number. A Ferrari Model 12 Cilindri Cavalino S-A. Yours for something north of £300,000, to be found at reference 2. Perhaps we should get up a petition to ban such gas-guzzling monsters from the roads of our borough?

And to think that someone who drives such a thing does not mind being seen playing Padel of all games. A bit wimpy or what? But which, I might say, at reference 3, looks to involve an imaginative bit of shed conversion.

This [Friday morning] outing had started in a more mundane way with the road over West Hill blocked being again. Has the recently closed gas hole erupted?

Not gas but water, with an impressive line-up just our side of the bridge.

With a rather unsavoury looking lake visible from the other side.

Not clear whether the black plastic contraptions were anything to do with the lake, rather than with some subsidiary problem.

No doubt all will be revealed.

PS: this afternoon, Bing tells me that our shiny new 'MP Helen Maguire [had] issued an update on the situation, confirming that the issue stems from a burst in a main water line. However, she reassured residents that the water remains clean and safe despite the disruption.'. While the roughly contemporary Thames Water update, snapped from Facebook, is included above.
