A smaller M&S food hall trolley from near the top of the Kokoro Passage.
But this was the second circuit. On the first circuit I had drawn a blank, although the name plate above caught my eye, making me think of the recent difficulty about getting to the bottom of Awesome Books, noticed at reference 2.
And guess what, Edge does not like the look of the website for Squire Energy Limited. While Companies House offers plenty of stuff for both it (No.04786330) and associated companies. I dare privatised gas offers lots of opportunities for tax avoidance. And it was always a bit of a puzzle to me, given that there is only one distribution network, not many primary gas providers and not much storage capacity in the system, why privatisation was thought to be worthwhile anyway. What is there left to be competitive about? And what about all the waste involved in duplicated billings systems?
Longmead Road offered the best clump of celandines yet, coexisting with a clump of nettles. Presumably the deal is that the celandines are done before the nettles really get going - despite which the nettles were already showing signs of life.
Plus a spot of shopping - to which end I had taken my trolley out. Rather a lot of stuff to be hauling up from town.
Pineapple and skate from the market; Calva, grapes and Guardian from Waitrose; Shaw from Oxfam - where I happened to be calling to recycle three unwanted books. The Shaw - In good King Charles's golden days - has turned out to be surprisingly funny, despite the play dating from 1939. It caught my eye because it was illustrated by Topolski - of the South Bank arches - although I think what started as a sort of gallery is now more of a bar. I had not known that he illustrated books. Prices on the Internet seem to vary between £5 and £50, so I think a fiver from Oxfam was fair - and I have had my money's worth. Green grapes not so clever but adequate, red grapes to be taken later today.
BH did something with the skate in the oven and it turned out very well.
Taken with Brussels, rice, a sauce involving vinegar, butter and capers, and a spot of white, the stuff called Volcaia, the stuff noticed at reference 4.
The fish had weighed in at 2lbs 2oz and there were two good portions. In fact, 1lb 8oz would probably been enough had the wings come that way. Whatever the case, pineapple did not seem quite the thing after the fish and we settled for blackberry and apple instead, which did very well.
Later on, out for the second circuit, by which time the waxing moon was well up in the southeastern sky.
The trolley already mentioned found a friend at the bottom of the ramp. A friend who stacked, so only the one trolley scored.
Back along Hook Road to take a look at the weeping Atlas Cedar there. Grown like this, it could be used to make a handsome screen in a larger garden than our own. You would also need patience and foresight as it is a very slow grower.
The central trunk, maybe six inches in diameter at its base. A tree which I have been keeping an eye on for well over a decade now. Long may it live!
See, for example, reference 5.
