Piano 102

A Yamaha upright captured in the cafeteria at Central Hall, Westminster.

Complete with an asset tag - to the right of the word 'Yamaha' on the inside of the lid - suggesting that the piano belongs to the Thames Valley University.

According to Wikipedia at reference 2, in 1860 founded as the Lady Byron School, later the Ealing College of Higher Education. Later still, in 1992, the then-named Polytechnic of West London became a university as Thames Valley University. Last of all, in 2010 or so, the University of West London. So possibly a gift to Central Hall of something that had become redundant in yet another reorganisation?

Possibly the outfit I came across in the course of my visit to Ealing last year, noticed at reference 3. I remember there being quite a lot of it. But probably not: according to gmaps that was Ealing Green College, part of West London College. For which see references 4 and 5.

PS: digging deeper I find to shock and horror, that this is a duplicate. For a slightly different story, see references 6 and 7.
