Assisted dying is coming to the boil in our Parliament again after a clear vote in favour earlier in the year and Dignity in Dying are organising a demonstration at Westminster this afternoon - when, sadly, I shall be in Croydon on healthy business.
We decided not to stick our necks out to the extent of displaying this poster which turned up yesterday in our front garden or in a front window. So this is a sort of substitute.
Hopefully our shiny new Lib-Dem MP - Helen Maguire - will turn out and vote in favour without any additional prompting from me.
PS: we might be the people who invented democracy in its modern form, but our Parliament is usually well behind the curve when it comes to social reforms. Hopefully this one is at long last on the move. All credit to the people at Dignity in Dying.
