Week three

Telephone not doing so well at picking them out this week.

From left to right, not all to the same scale.

And the field is starting to spread out. Left seems to be doing best, perhaps because it is nearest the sun. Middle may have lost its lead bud and it taking a while to get going again. While right is just slow.

I also have a senior moment to record. Came in from a trip around Jubilee Way yesterday morning, to find a smell of jam in the kitchen. Didn't think any more of it. Then come lunchtime, a bowl of dark and not so dark stewed fruit appeared. The brain decided that they were blackberry and apple. It wasn't until my portion arrived quite some minutes later and I was about to start on them that the brain worked out that they were actually red plums, of mottled appearance as they had been halved and stoned.

Not having registered that hot blackberry and apple do not smell of jam.

And having missed the significance of three further clues in the garage. The presence of plums the day before yesterday, the absence of plums and the presence of cooking apples yesterday. Cooking apples which would not have been there had BH done blackberry and apple.

Clearly no Sherlock.
