This from the Tate & Lyle library in South Lambeth Road. A helpful lady, a very modest amount of pack-drill to register and get a card, a certain amount of confusion caused by exotic software - and then we are in. Plus it's a rather more flashy library card than I get from Surrey Libraries. Or, at least, than I got some years ago.
Nothing to be seen in Windows Explorer, no snip and sketch - or whatever it is that Microsoft call their helpful gadget, so no idea how to illustrate the present post. No pictorial grappa from Portugal (an oxymoron?) or anything.
PS 1: some time later, back in Epsom: we now have an image of the library card, The only catch being that I have the camera but I don't have the card any more; at least not to hand. Knowledge of the long number might suffice for future access, but further search is indicated. And I should add that, for the avoidance of doubt, the story, such as it is, is a credit to Lambeth Libraries. They do provide a service - even if, on a bad day, the flood waters from a rising Thames are washing around the the road outside. Or will be, before too long.
PS 2: Microsoft do call their gadget snip and sketch. A pair of scissors on the left hand portion of my tool bar, down the bottom of the screen.
PS 3: for grappa, Portuguese flavour, see: https://www.alentasia.com/shop/liqueur/mouchao-aguardente-alicante-bouschet-portuguese-grappa-11-11-sales-11-off/.
PS 4: the Estrela Bar in South Lambeth Road appears to have been delisted. Maybe they forgot to pay their dues to Google.
