Piano 104

Piano 104 was a Young Chang grand up at the altar end of the luvvies' church in Covent Garden, aka St. Paul's.

A brand of which I had not previously heard, founded in 1956 in South Korea (reference 3) and now part of the Hyundai family of companies (reference 5). Not sure why as the latter is is active in real estate development, construction and hospitality - so not clear why they would branch out in to pianos. Do karaoke bars use pianos? Is the connection wood-working machinery?

According to reference 4, Young Chang was big in various parts of the musical instruments industry, including running a sawmill in the US, but had a rather chequered history, including a couple of bankruptcies, before being absorbed by Hyundai in 2006. It is now one of the world's biggest piano makers.
