A Chappell piano, captured at the back of the bar restaurant at the Denham Grove Hotel of reference 2. A little to the south of the line of the HS2. The key I touched seemed OK to me, but otherwise it did not give the appearance of a piano that was much used.
Without knowing anything about them, I had thought that Chappell pianos were common enough, which is consistent with what little there is about pianos at reference 4, but it seems that this one is, nevertheless, a first for me. The nearest I had come was an Elysian piano at Lyme Regis, noticed at reference 3.
Rather more about Chappell pianos at reference 5. But they did not make Church's cut at reference 6.
