Piano 79

Piano 79 was captured yesterday in the restaurant-bar at the back of Kings Place at the back of Kings Cross, a place we have visited for concerts in the past.

A Reid-Sohn, a brand which I had not heard of before, although I have got used to all kinds of piano builders flying under cod-German colours. Reference 2 suggests that this is a perfectly respectable upright piano, made somewhere east of Suez, probably Korea, probably by the Samick Musical Instrument Company of reference 4. Which reference 3 suggests was at one point mixed up with Steinway and is mixed up with Bechstein. But reference 4 seems to know nothing of the Reid-Sohn brand, despite it being well known to piano dealers here in the UK.

Maybe the new Bechstein facility in Wigmore Street will, in due course, be able to tell me all about them.
