The first trolley of the day was captured just past the station, just short of the never-busy kitchen shop. A medium large trolley from the M&S food hall.
Returned through the Ashley Centre, rather than via the Wetherspoon's Passage, my more usual route, which meant that I took in the new branding for what was Smiths. BH told me that 'T G Jones' is a complete fiction, used as a container for the shops that Smiths want to get rid of as they concentrate on the travel side - rather than the high street side - of their business.
I learn from reference 2 that BH is a bit behind the loop on this one, with the sale already having gone through to the people at reference 3. With those people only having come together themselves two or three years ago.
On around my usual circuit, to take in the whitebeam, hopefully a bit happier after the rain.
Despite which, the stream at the junction of Hook Road and Longmead Road, was not looking very busy at all. Either the water from the Common had gone through before I got there, or it just never came.
Home to pick up a couple more of the fine neighbourly apples available from a tray in a front garden. BH finds them a bit sharp, but I think they are great, much better than anything I am likely to find in a shop. I associate to the James Grieve which I used to be fond of when I was a child, and did grow briefly on my allotment. Maybe fruit farmer who shows up from time to time will be at the Sunday market in a few days time, and he will have something good. See reference 5, from just about three years ago.
Google Images turns up lots of similar images, but neither they nor the AI supplement are terribly helpful. But then, given that there are lots of apples of this general appearance, it did not have very much to go on.
The second trolley was captured in the afternoon, in Station Approach. A medium small from the M&S food hall.
Which picked up a non-scoring friend from behind one of the food vans on the market square.
