A good try

A couple of days ago there was a spider's web in the top left hand corner of the south facing window in my study. It must have caught the dew overnight and was glittering nicely in the morning sun.

The Samsung phone did a better job than I thought likely, even better zoomed, given that it was vaguely facing the sun (to the left), the double glazing and my use of default settings. I don't suppose I shall be investing in the time and effort needed to do better.

But I might say that while the web is still there this morning, it is a good deal smaller than it is here. Perhaps we are on the the second or third reincarnation.

PS: a bit later on, I was rather taken with this graphic, lifted from the interesting piece about Indonesia at reference 1. With the old powers, like the Italy, UK and France, slipping down the league table, sliding in the case of Italy, while new powers like Turkey, Indonesia and India are climbing up. Population and natural resources do make a difference. While Japan and Germany are set to buck the trend - at least for the time being. All this according to the IMF, in the context of Indonesia trying to move its capital from the sinking Jakarta to the steaming jungles of Borneo, or Kalimantan as the Indonesian three quarters share is now called. The original graphic was animated in time, which I found informative but irritating, and after a while I found the off switch bottom left.
