Trolley 591 was recovered from Station Approach the morning after we had first noticed it, on our way into London. Returned to the M&S food hall. With it being warm enough outside for it to feel cold among all the chiller cabinets there.
The Majestic Honey Locust trees on Station Approach, previously noticed at reference 2, were in full bean.
While Wilko has now finally shut, after a run in Epsom of near 25 years. A purpose built building, on the site of the old indoor market - a form of shopping centre that BH, and her mother before her, were rather fond of. That said, I don't think it was thriving by the time that it was shut down: the world had moved on. One of the stall holders there, Dave Discount, moved out into the market square proper, where his stunt was to attract shoppers to his spread - household goods - bedding, towels and the like - by being loud and rude. It seemed to work as there were always ladies poking around, or maybe just enjoying his patter, his jibes at prospects who were not spending fast enough. Now retired. The market is not the same without him, despite the efforts of the butcher in his fine new lorry.
While the long running conversion job - half finished block of garages to curiously shaped detached house - in Hook Road looks as if it is finally nearing completion. Still plenty of builders' gear out front.
I see from reference 3 that this project has been running for well over three years, with the block of garages having stood, unfinished and unchanging, for many years before that. And I had forgotten that Amber, the people who recently installed our new boiler, used to have the land behind. Now established in newly refurbished premises on West Hill, as previously noticed at reference 4.
PS: a new gas boiler as no-one seemed to think that an electric boiler was a good idea and the heat pump alternative did not seem to us to be ready to roll, at least not for the sort of house that we have. We had hoped to be doing our bit to save the planet, so not the outcome we had been hoping for at all.
