Digging a bit deeper into our hired Cupra, I read at reference 1 that Cupra, originally a name associated with the racing end of SEAT, then a Spanish company, has become the name of a brand, with both brand and company now being owned by Volkswagen.
I also read that the Formentor is a 'C-segment SUV based on the León. First standalone model for Cupra'. Where C-segment is explained at reference 2. Which look to be very much the sort of thing that we want, with the Volkswagen Golf being the segment leader. We have had and liked a Golf in the past, pre-owned by FIL, but were not so convinced by the current one, which we tried recently. A bit cramped in the back, a bit hard to get in and out - and far too talkative.
BH thought that the logo was the stylised head, viewed from the front, of a fox or a wolf - while I, knowing the Spanish to be keen on bulls, opted for a bull. Search suggests that it is neither, rather a couple of linked triangles, supported by some serious design waffle. See, for example, reference 3.
PS: Saturday: BH has just learned that Cupra sponsor stuff on ITV3, the channel we used quite a bit before we got a smart TV.
