After the lull in the middle period, the jigsaw closed at speed, being completed on the 13th or 14th day, so around a fortnight elapsed time. I still maintain that the actual jigsaw time was significantly less than first time around.
And I did reach the point where most pieces picked at random from the heap could be placed without much conscious intervention. There was some lock-and-key matching, but not very much.
Despite it only being a fortnight or so since the last occasion, noticed at reference 2, we thought that pork soup would be the appropriate form of celebration. It just so happened that we had a piece of tenderloin and some elderly leeks to hand.
Maybe at much as 8oz of pearl barley. But apart from the switch from white cabbage to leeks, the usual drill. Maybe as much as 90 minutes from weighing the pearl barley to soup on the table.
As usual, it went down well enough, doing well over half at the first sitting.
Dessert taking the form of what was left of a pineapple, probably £1.25 from Marks & Spencer. A mystery how they can ship such a large fruit from Central America and deliver it to our table in such good condition for so little money. And one feels slightly guilty about the amount of damage that must be being caused to the planet.
