After much talk about such things, a nut roast finally made its appearance on a Weaner Wednesday about ten days ago. BH had damped down the curry powder called for by the recipe and very good it was too.
In appearance not that unlike the stuffing we serve with chicken, not really surprising considering the overlap of ingredients.
Served with properly green cabbage and what looks like white rice, even though I think it would have said at least brownish on the packet.
Also a little mango chutney from Sainsbury's. Which worked - until I realised that it was mainly a mixture of sugar and vinegar! Perhaps a brown version of sweet and sour sauce, something else that we eat very rarely these days.
A recipe culled from part two of Delia Smith's Cookery Course for the BBC. The lady who was once the house cook for the Daily Mirror and once made an exhibition of herself on the home ground of Norwich City football ground. It had not know until I looked her up at reference 2 that she was a joint majority shareholder. Must be plenty of money in celebrity cheffing. Nor did I know that she was a celebrity convert to Catholicism.
Notwithstanding, the nut roast was good. Although, as BH reminds me, as with a lot of vegetarian dishes, a bit fiddly in the preparation, certainly first time around.
