Snap of the day

The sorry saga noticed at reference 1 continues, with the wannabee speaker making all kinds of concessions to people on the right wing of his party. But at least it serves to provide the snap of the day, lifted from reference 2.

Lest we get too smug about all the faith nuts in the US parliament, remember that this last parliament is theoretically faith blind, whereas our parliament still has prayer time, although I have no information about attendance, which is voluntary. Anglican prayer time that is; others have to make their own arrangements. For all of which see reference 4. Remember also that one of our past Prime Ministers made a rather noisy conversion to the Catholics. Like many good Republicans, he does both faith and money, even if most of the rest of us don't.
