This time a fake on the door mat: a letter from Dignity in Dying, a letter reminding me that with the vote noticed at reference, the real work is only just starting. The rest is easy enough to guess!
However, the point of the present post is the stamp, with fake stamp and postmark printed onto the envelope, next to what I take to be the business post registration number. First time I have seen such a thing. I associate to the many bits of stylised ornament on buildings, once functional, now purely decorative. With a large example of same being the later fan vaulting in chapels, churches and state buildings, which had little to do with vaulting and everything to do with flashy decoration. Often made of plaster rather than stone to keep the weight down. And the plaster up!
The same day also saw an inspection visit to the overflow pond near the hospital, still without visible water despite the recent rain. A passing gent. told me that he did not recall seeing water there for quite some years.
First Line Recovery still missing from outside the Ford Centre of Blenheim Road.
Must take the time to pay a visit to the new Padel centre right, first noticed at reference 3. Will I ever be fit enough to play? Would I want to?
Home to inspect my supplies of 'grand rustique', red grapefruits and Argentinian cherries, all from Waitrose. Plus the latest round of royal trivia.
The Argentinian cherries were rather dear, but turned out to be rather good. Sweetheart, which reference 4 tells me is yet another cherry from the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre in Summerland, British Columbia. Described in brief at reference 5. I bought some more today, from the same batch, and they were still good.
After which I got around to opening my letter.
PS: not the same at all as the place in Ottawa which I failed to visit to ask about lentils.
